Description
Nicholas Smith is a PhD Candidate in the Anthropology department at U of T. His writing follows remote workers, foreign investors, real estate developers, and city planners through processes redevelopment and regeneration in Athens, Greece. Guiding themes in this research include the politics of mobility, design, precarity, and affect. Outside of writing, Nick has an interest in experimental ethnographic design, including multimodal work and sensorial ethnography. He is a Section Editor with Anthropod, the Podcast of the Society for Cultural Anthropology, and a research fellow with the EMERGE matrix, a multi-institutional forum for collaborative ethnographic research.
