Toronto is regularly rated one of the world’s most livable cities. The Greater Metropolitan Region of Toronto is home to more than 6 million people, making it one of the largest urban regions in North America. It is a city known for its high levels of cultural diversity, routinely absorbing 25-30% of Canada’s overall immigration. Over half of Toronto’s population was born outside of Canada. The location of the University in a city of extraordinary cultural diversity offers our faculty and students rich opportunities for community involvement and research, while reinforcing our responsibility to remain vigilant critics of racism and ethnocentrism.
