SCL Work in Progress Discussion Series: Jack Sidnell

The SCL work in progress discussion series plans two events this term.  The series is designed to “workshop” work in progress by SCL faculty, with a chance for faculty and grad students to give input to the writer. The premise is that every piece of work needs work,   and the writer’s goal is to communicate, so as a group of readers with  different expertise we can help the writer identify what is working/not working, challenges, opportunities, possible connections and  resonances etc. Whatever the topic, and however far it seems from our own interests, we all struggle with writing and we wrestle with ideas, so there is lots to learn and to contribute by engaging with unfinished work.

The first paper is by Jack Sidnell.  Participants need to read it in advance as the writer does not present the work, we launch straight into discussion.  To obtain a copy of the paper please send an email to Allison Doucet allison.doucet@utoronto.ca

All are welcome. Please come!
